Arran Port Cask Finish Single Malt Whisky is first matured in traditional oak casks for around 8 years. The Arran Single Malt is then finished in a selection of Port casks. These Port casks are sourced from Portugal and were previously filled with Port. The maturation is carefully monitored by the Master Distiller, to ensure the combination of Port casks and the inherent character of Arran Single Malt marry together perfectly. The result is a single malt full of charm and rich flavour.
On the nose, Arran Port Cask Finish displays cinnamon and baked apple aromas. On the palate, there's vanilla spice, ripe citrus, dried fruits and nuttiness. Adding a splash of water you delve into further depths of mandarin citrus, fudge and honeyed notes. The finish has spice, bitter oranges and touches of chocolate and cherries.
A single malt to savour as an after dinner dram. Try it with a delicious cheese board.
