Balvenie

Balvenie Distillery, founded in 1892 in Dufftown by William Grant, prides itself on maintaining a number of rare traditional practices, not often found these days. Balvenie grows its own barley on a 1000-acre farm before malting it on a traditional malting floor, one of only a few remaining in Scotland. Balvenie employs its own coppersmith to maintain the stills as well as its own coopers to repair, rebuild, fill and seal casks. Finally, the expertise of David Stewart, the industry's longest serving Malt Master brings unmatched expertise to both ensuring consistency in all Balvenie expressions as well as pioneering new ones.

Balvenie is an award-winning distillery; two bottlings from the core range, PortWood 21 Year-Old and DoubleWood have both taken gold medals at the International Spirits Challenge and at the International Wine and Spirit Competition respectively.
