Baron de Ley

Baron de Ley is a relatively recent winemaking project, founded in 1985 by a group of Rioja professionals, but the bodega's heritage of wine production dates back to the mid 16th century. Housed in a former monastery, Baron de Ley was once home to Benedictine monks who would have used the grounds for winemaking.

Baron de Ley owns 350 hectares of vineyards growing predominantly Tempranillo grapes and blessed by a unique terroir. Located on a dry river bed, layers of gravel, sand and clay are host to century old vines which produce very low yields of exceptional quality. Baron de Ley stands proudly among the world's winemaking elite.
