Limited edition magnum size bottle. To mark the release of the James Bond movie, No Time To Die, the 25th instalment in the series, the Bollinger Champagne House has created this limited edition champagne dedicated to 007. The 2011 vintage has been inspired by the world of Bond. The jet black bottle is adorned with the number '25', that's formed from the titles of the previous films. November 2019 marks a 40 year milestone in the exclusive relationship between Champagne Bollinger and James Bond, which started with the release of Moonraker back in 1979. It was a chance meeting in 1978 between two fine wine lovers Christian Bizot, the then Managing Director of Champagne Bollinger, and Albert R. Broccoli, the producer of 007, that marked the start of a long-lasting friendship between two families, that has remained strong. In 1979, Champagne Bollinger appeared on screen in Moonraker. It became the Official Champagne for the famous British secret agent, 007. The partnership has evolved into a recognisable part of the history of both brands. To this day, the relationship between the two iconic brands continues. 2011 was an atypical year, that inspired the Cellar Master to produce a unique champagne. Bollinger 007 Limited Edition Millesime 2011 is created entirely from Pinot Noir from the Grand Cru village of Ay, where the House was first established in 1829. It is the first time that both the vintage and village have been used exclusively by Bollinger to make a dedicated wine. The excellent 2011 harvest in Ay, produced complex, powerful and harmonious Pinot Noirs, that are expressed with power in this characterful wine. Golden in colour with hints of copper. It opens on the nose with grilled and roasted aromas, followed by touches of honey, hard candy and yellow-fleshed fruits such as the Mirabelle plum. There's rich notes of stewed fruits to taste, expressed with a beautiful rounded texture. An elevated finish with mineral notes that are evocative of flint. |
