A Magnum size bottle of Bollinger La Grande Annee 2007, regarded as one of the very best champagnes of the 2007 vintage. Immediately enjoyable and superbly classy, a bright and fresh nose, with fruity aromas of peach and mango, almonds and dried citrus. Honeyed and full on the palate with a smooth chalky texture, flavours of candied lemon with a touch of bitterness lead into a refreshing finish. La Grande Annee is Bollinger's Prestige Cuvee, only produced when exceptional vintages occur. The 2007 vintage draws on grapes from 14 crus of which 91% are Grands crus and 1% Premier crus. The wine is fermented entirely in barrels, while the secondary fermentation and maturation take place with a natural cork seal, both of which are a rarity in Champagne. Disgorged in June 2016, Bollinger La Grande Annee 2007 can be enjoyed immediately and is best served between 8 and 10°C. It will also continue to gain complexity with cellar ageing. The bottle comes presented in a solid green Bollinger Grande Annee branded wood box. |
