Caffe Borghetti was created over 150 years ago in 1860 by Ugo Borghetti to celebrate the opening of the Pescara-Ancona railway, serving the blend of coffee and alcohol to travellers on the line from the station.
Superstition holds that drinking Borghetti brings good luck, and miniature bottles of the liqueur can be found sold in stadiums around Italy, so that fans of the drink can send a drop of good fortune to their favourite teams. |
