Domaine Chante Cigale dates back to 1874, when Hyppolite Jourdan, winemaker, declared that his 28 hectare homestead be known as "Clos Chante Cigale", the "Vineyard of the Singing Cicada". In 1936, after being presented with a designation of AOC, it became "Domaine Chante Cigale".
Over the years, the property has expanded to 45 of the best terroirs, growing 13 varieties of grape. To optimise maturity, the grapes are manually harvested over six weeks each year. Domaine Chante Cigale is overseen by Aleandre Favier today, bringing a great respect for tradition and an artistic touch to bringing to the world, wines that are both noble and excellent. |
