The legend of Disaronno tells that in 1525, a student of Leonardo da Vinci was commissioned to create a fresco of the Madonna and chose a local innkeeper as his muse. So grateful was the innkeeper, she rewarded him with a flask of fragrant amber liqueur.
In the 1600s, the Reina family discovered the innkeeper's recipe and passed it down through the generations. The iconic bottle is the work of a Venetian glass maker, who made a hand-crafted unique bottle designed to reflect the quality and tradition of Disaronno. |
