Giffard started life in 1885 when Emile Giffard, a dispensing pharmacist in France at the time began research into the digestive properties of mint. His research led him to create a mint liqueur which was met with immediate success. He transformed his laboratory into a distillery and set up business creating his new product.
Today, Giffard is still owned by the same family, and has expanded into producing a range of cocktail making ingredients including both liqueurs and syrups. Emile's legacy of research and innovation is alive and well as the company continues working on researching and developing new products in their laboratory year-round. |
