Henri Bardouin

Henri Bardouin Pastis is a product of Distilleries et Domaines de Provence. Pastis was born in the 1930s out of the prohibition of Absinthe in France. Distilleries were keen to produce an anise liqueur to appeal to a similar palate and in 1832 Paul Ricard created Pastis, a liqueur based on anise and licorice.

Henri Bardouin became a distiller in 1946, and took the established pastis to make a more complex drink. Building upon the recipe to create a new pastis using 65 different herbs and spices, the core anise and licorice flavours are still present but with a complexity not found in other pastis.
