Jack Daniel's is the best-selling American whiskey in the world. The youngest of ten children, Jack Daniel started learning the distilling trade as a teenager and in 1875 went on to found his own business alongside his mentor Dan Call. The Old No. 7 brand recognised today around the world was the registration number the government assigned to the distillery and though this later changed, the brand had already been established.
Jack Daniel's saw a surge in popularity when it took home a gold medal for the finest whiskey at the 1904 St. Louis World's Fair and despite the setbacks of prohibition and World War II, the distillery has stayed strong and grown from there to its prestigious position today. |
