Johnnie Walker King George V is named after the king of the same name. This limited release whisky in the Johnnie Walker Blue Label line up is crafted from some of the rarest whiskies, including Port Ellen, a highly prized malt whose distillery no longer exists.
King George V is sophisticated yet restrained. The smokiness that comes from the unique, now closed distillery of Port Ellen is powerful, slow and resonant. It's a slow whisky to evolve but it has enormous depth.
The profound initial smoky aroma is followed by sweet, fresh fruit malt characteristics; apples, pears, bananas. A smooth palate with a rich, fruity sweetness with warming subtle flavours of sandalwood and smoke. Powerful, complex, rich and smooth to taste. The finish is long and sustained, with a lingering rich peatiness.
