Lindemans

Lindeman's history traces back over 170 years of wine making to Dr. Henry Lindeman and his wife who started a vineyard in 1843 in the Hunter Valley region of Australia, building a winery and aging cellar to go with it. A mere 7 years later, the property was destroyed by an arsonist and Henry was forced to return to work as a doctor to rebuild his fortune. By 1853, Dr. Lindeman was able to return to the wine making he loved so much.

The original vineyard no longer exists, but in the 1960s the company expanded to acquire vineyards in the Barossa Valley, Coonawarrra, Padthaway, Clare Valley and Corowa regions. These allowed the company to greatly expand the number of grape varieties available to them and today, Lindeman's offers an excellent range of wines for a range of tastes.
