Clear, intense, deep cherry red with a violet hue. The nose is clean, medium intensity and youthful with aromas of strawberries and red cherries. The palate has a medium body with attractive ripe fruit flavours with a delicious savoury character and a hint of toast on the finish. The grapes are hand-harvest only and yields controlled by cluster thinning of vines. The wine is vinified in stainless steel vats for 10 days at a temperature of 26°. The wine undergoes malolactic fermentation. All of the wine is then aged in oak for up to 4 months in 10 year old barrels prior to another 3 months bottle ageing. |
