Champagne Mercier was founded in 1858 by Eugene Mercier in Epernay. At the age of just twenty, Mercier defied sceptics to bring the drink of the elite to a wider audience without ever sacrificing quality along the way. Eugene Mercier dazzled the public at Universal Expositions, creating the world's biggest wine cask for the 1989 Universal Expo taking second prize behind the Eiffel Tower.
Eugene Mercier's always claimed that one day "rivers of champagne will flow through Epernay" and today Champagne Mercier has made that a reality by growing to become France's most loved and best-selling brand of champagne. |
