The House of Metaxa was founded in 1888 by Spyros Metaxa, a Greek entrepreneur. He helped establish the first distillery and created the first Greek brandy. In the 19th century, a lot of spirits were harsh and burned the palate. Spyros Metaxa's vision was to create an intensely aromatic spirit that was, above all else, much smoother on the palate.
As one of only two Greek industries to survive both World Wars, Metaxa is a drink that has stood the test of time. Metaxa's award-winning range is versatile enough to be enjoyed neat, on the rocks, with a mixer or in cocktails. |
