Patron is the creation of John Paul DeJoria and Martin Crowley, a pair of entrepreneurs with a quest to create the best tequila in the world. In Jalisco, Mexico, they met Francisco Alcaraz, a veteran of the tequila industry, and tasked him with creating the highest quality 100% agave tequila possible. At the time, very few tequilas were created from 100% agave, and this new, exceptionally high quality tequila marked the birth of ultra-premium luxury tequila, a product category which had never existed before. Those who tried it found it far smoother and more refined than other tequilas, very different to their preconceived notions. |
