Portobello Road Celebrated Butter Gin is a nod to a historical gin style from days gone by. And if you were wondering whether there's real butter in the gin? The answer is yes!
This curious and unusual gin has a 'must try' appeal for many gin aficionados. It is inspired by gins found in a typical 19th-century London gin palace.
To create this expression, the original Portobello Road No.171 London Dry Gin has been redistilled with English unsalted butter in a 30-litre copper pot still, called Copernicus IV. The addition of butter provides the gin with a more viscous texture and a creamy mouthfeel, together with a touch of sweetness and salinity.
It's great when served in a Martini (gin and vermouth). It also tastes great as a classic Gin & Tonic.
