Saint Romain, Joseph Drouhin is a lively andgenerous white wine with the hallmark 'pebbly' quality of Saint-Romain and flavours of yellow plum and gingerbread, all wrapped in a perfume of honeysuckle.
Saint-Romain is a well-known prehistoric site. Located at the foot of a large amphitheater of limestone cliffs, it lies apart from the other villages of Cote de Beaune. The vineyard is planted on clay and limestone with a plantation density of 10,000 stocks/ha in order to extract all possible nuances from the terroir. The pruning method is Guyot with a yield of 49hl/ha, being low on purpose to limit the production of each vine stock. With an elevation of 400 metres (1,200 ft), this is one of the highest vineyards of the Cote. |
