Suntory Yamazaki 12 Year Old Single Malt Whisky was awarded Supreme Champion Spirit at International Spirits Challenge 2024. The Supreme Champion Spirit is awarded to the highest scoring Trophy winner in the competition. This means that Yamazaki 12 Years Old was awarded the Trophy, which is the top award in both the Japanese Whisky category, and also the most outstanding product amongst the thousands of entries in all categories. It is the first time Yamazaki 12 Year Old has been awarded the Supreme Champion Spirit Award.
This highly acclaimed and highly awarded single malt from Japan is distilled through the art of Japanese craftsmanship in harmony with nature at Japan's oldest distillery, built by Suntory founder Shinjiro Torii in 1923. On the nose, fruity aromas of peach, pineapple and grapefruit, spicy clove as well as hints of Japanese oak. Coconut and cranberry flavours are discernible on the palate, with hints of banana and wood. A long finish, with sweet ginger and cinnamon notes. Yamazaki 12 Year Old is best served neat in a traditional Scotch whisky style glass, but for something different try blending with ice and water in a highball. A serve incredibly popular in Japan. |
