Taittinger Comtes de Champagne Blanc de Blancs is only produced in exceptional years and is the ultimate expression of the Taittinger style. The wine is composed 100% from Chardonnay grapes grown in the most prestigious vineyards in the Côte des Blancs area. Only first press juice is used. To enhance the qualities of the final blend, a small proportion of 5% of the blend spends three to four months in new oak barrels. Before disgorgement, this Blanc de Blancs is aged for 10 years on the lees in Taittinger's 13th-century chalk cellars.
The production volume of the 2012 harvest was low and affected by a combination of climatic variations, which were experienced throughout the season, including winter and spring frosts and hail. On the positive side, the climatic conditions to allow the maturation of the grapes were exceptional, owing to the dry and sunny months of August and September. The grape-harvest took place from September 17th to 30th. The picking time was marked by a few particularly cold mornings. The quality of the grapes harvested allows for the creation of wines of a great aromatic delicacy. The Chardonnays are complex, with an aromatic nose of white flowers and citrus fruits. On the palate, it's fresh, lively and balanced, with a generous finish.

Comtes de Champagne is drinking as a beautiful wine. With further bottle ageing, it will undoubtedly provide an even more rewarding drinking experience, with further structure, complexity and depth.
