Tokaji is known as the 'King of Wines, Wine of Kings' - This rich and honeyed dessert wine is balanced with refreshing acidity from the Tokaj-Hegyalja region, made using wine-making techniques dating back to 1631. Yellow gold in colour. Its youthful and exuberant nose of Seville orange and marmalade are presented with layers of citrus, lime and honeyed fruit and flowers. Searing acidity underlies the intense flavours on the palate. Aszu wines are made when, aided by climatic conditions, botryis concentrates the grape sugars in the hand picked, raisin-like grapes - Aszú berries. The wine is aged skilfully in cask for a minimum of 3 years. The Puttonyos number 3 to 6 - indicate the amount of Aszú grapes used. The higher the number the more Aszú grapes are used.
