Westward American Single Malt Whiskey is made in Oregon with locally grown barley. It's then aged in lightly-toasted virgin American white oak casks. It's bottled at 45% ABV. The nose has dense aromas of nougat, syrup and dark roast coffee. This is followed by hints of baked banana's and coconut cream. It's slides like silk around the palate. A touch of tongue burn, is followed by the same aromas as on the nose. It's very consistent. The medium length finish, also has a light bitterness that balances the dark sugar flavours. The addition of water, provides little wood smoke on the nose. The flavour profile on the palate remains largely unaltered. Overall, it's a rather good American Single Malt! |
